Becoming a firefighter volunteer or paid, is not something to be taken lightly. It requires desire, respect, and commitment. We will be able to help you with this decision. In Broussard, we want nothing less than to help you become all that you can be. We can assure you that we will do all that's possible to assist you with your journey to accomplishing that.
Step 1. Fill out this application online and then print it out!
Step 2. Bring the completed application to Station 1 or Station 2 during the week.
Step 3. Your application will be forwarded to our president where he will conduct a background check. You will be asked to attend a business meeting (which are on the second Thursday of every month) to introduce yourself. If your application is approved you will be taken for a drug screening.
Step 4. After all checks and screenings are completed your application will be voted on by the membership. We encourage you to attend Thursday night drills to allow the membership to get to know you.
Step 5. Once voted in by the membership. You will be able to respond and participate on scenes, you will be on a 90 day probationary period. This will be described in future to you as you are accepted into the department.
We thank you for taking the time to consider becoming a member of our department. We want to make it clear we have positions for everyone. You don't have to fight fire, we have a dire need for support personnel also. We can find a place for everyone.
Thanks Again,
Broussard Fire Department
